Knowledge Pursuit in Electronics Research and Academics(KPERA - 2017)



The 2 day national workshop KPERA was conceived in developments to provide a bird’s eye view of the state of the art developments in the niche areas of IC design, signal processing and communication. The workshop was inaugurated on 30th morning in the ECE conference hall. Chief Guest Prof. Shevgaonkar delivered the key note address narrating the research issues in the field of Electronics.


Mr. Ravishankar, CEO of Elveego semiconductor systems, Bangalore highlighted design challenges in the IC design. He emphasized the significance of analog and mixed signal IC design and thrown light on various career opportunities for researchers in this area. Mr. M V Krishnareddy senior design engineer, ON semiconductors, Bangalore discussed the design the intricacies of PLL. Participants had a thorough interactive session.


On 31st morning, RCI, DRDO director Sri BHV Narayanamurthy delivered key note explaining the research opportunities in defense applications. Audience were highly motivated to take up the design challenges for the indigenous defense needs. Prof K V Jayakumar, in-charge director of NITW and Prof. DVLN Somayajulu, Chair, E & ICT Academy highlighted the contribution of NIT Warangal towards the academy activities. Dr. Ramabrahmam R, Head, Texas Instruments in India, delivered a recorded video talk that inspired the audience towards IC design challenges.


Prof. NVSN Sarma, Chief investigator, EICT academy, NITW and Dr. T Kishore Kumar, Head, Dept. of ECE show cased the research activities of ECE department. Participants from industry including Cadence EDA, DRDO and various academic institutions acknowledged the proceedings during the conclusion of the workshop on 31st July evening.
