NIT Warangal campus is about 2 and 12 km away from Kazipet and Warangal railway stations respectively. National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College) Warangal is the first among RECs that was set-up in 1959 as a joint venture of state and central Government of India. Over the years, the college has evolved itself as a premier Institute imparting top quality technical education leading to B.Tech degrees in eight branches of engineering, M.Tech and Ph.D. programs with various specializations. To give further impetus to the technical education, the Government of India upgraded the RECs to NITs and conferred the status of Institutes of National Importance.
About the Department :
The Department of Chemical Engineering offers an Undergraduate program in Chemical Engineering, a Post Graduate program in Chemical Engineering with Specialization in Computer Aided Process & Equipment Design and Ph.D program. The Department consists of experienced faculty and well established laboratories.
The Department has been recognized as a QIP Center for pursuing both M.Tech and Ph.D programs. The Department is currently celebrating 50 years of its existence. To commemorate the golden jubilee year of its inception, the department is organizing the international conference.
